It was a privilege to document the Alex Munro Fire Hall No. 1 in Squamish, BC as a personal project, a critical piece of infrastructure for the Sea to Sky Corridor. Designed by HCMA Architecture, this facility serves as the new Squamish Fire Rescue headquarters and the primary Emergency Operations Centre (EOC).

As a post-disaster building, the structure’s resiliency was paramount. My architectural photography focused on the robust structural details, including the innovative foundation using stone columns to stabilize the ground and ensure functionality during a major seismic event. This LEED-standard building was strategically moved out of the floodplain and includes modern features vital for firefighter health and safety, such as specialized decontamination rooms and a training tower. This gallery highlights the building's distinctive civic presence and its essential role in the rapidly growing Squamish community.
